The hot rumor today is that Apple is planning to unveil a top-secret laptop, our would-be MacBook Touch.

Reports surfaced this week that Steve Jobs and Co. are working wholeheartedly towards the completion of a touchscreen laptop, believed to be unveiled in just a few months from now.

There are no facts as of yet which show concretely that this mystery touchscreen is the MacBook Touch although this is the belief of many, and Apple fans from all over the world are dying to hear more on this rumor and have someone from the Apple mill set the record straight.

The comments that started this whole thing came during a conference call this week which involved Apple CFO, Peter Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer was quoted discussing the company’s second quarter earnings, mentioning “future product transition, which I can’t discuss today”.

The Apple MacBook Plus would be the computer of our dreams, capturing all the function and feature imaginable and combining that with Apple’s current technology, interface and design language.

We have seen before how Apple dominates the market and upstages pretty much all other competitors time and time again, and so it is no wonder that so many people are eager to hear more, focused on figuring out just what it was that Oppenheimer was speaking of and what they could possibly be bringing to the table now.

Rumors about an Apple tablet computer have been circulating for years and this is not the first time that legitimate media has reported on such news.

This time things are optimistically different, or at least we hope so. The vague hints that Apple has thrown our way have certainly got us all excited again and although some people don’t see the need for an Apple tablet, most of us would be eagerly waiting in line the second a confirmation was made on this story.

There are certainly non-believers who are sure this is just another rumor and nothing but, and that we are way off base. Take Michael Gartenberg, a technology analyst at Jupiter Research, who feels that:

A laptop line at a cheap price point aimed at the education market that’s built cheaper seems to make more sense to me. But in the end we’ll more than likely all be proven wrong, and Apple will produce something that has nothing to do with these things.

We will stay hopeful however, and be sure to keep you updated with any and all news on this story as it becomes available to us.

This is truly revolutionary and very exciting for everyone included, the application known as the ESO Pro ePCR Suite which will offer an intuitive manner to help emergency medical responders get the information that they need via computer.

Electrovaya ’s primary business is providing mobile power via its patented battery technology. For years now the Electrovaya Company has been offering its PowerPads that slide underneath notebooks and provide up to six times the power of a standard laptop battery.

The SC2000 truly shows just what a remarkable company they are, and introduced a few years ago, this is a machine that refines and elevates Electrovaya’s status to a whole new level.

One of the first features you notice on this Tablet PC is its clever snap-on keyboard.

When you first take a look at the SC2000 out of the box you may think that it is a notebook convertible, and this is because what appears to be the top part of the notebook is actually a detachable keyboard.

The overall design of the SC2000 is incredible, among the top in the market today. Sleek and elegant, this slate Tablet PC is rigid and rugged.

The computer comes with an unusually rich compliment of software, and the 1.2GHz M processor represents an excellent comprimise between speed and battery life.

Regardless of your needs in a Tablet PC you are sure to hit a high note with this model, as it is one of the most all around feature-packed and functional Tablet PCs out there.

Getac introduced the E100 in early 2008 as a light, versatile rugged Tablet PC for field and customer service applications and since then has become incredibly favored by computer users around the world.

Lightweight at just over three pounds, there are a ton of respectable features offered by this device.

To discuss this Tablet PC, let’s begin by discussing the excellent display that is offered. featuring an 8.4″ TFT SVGA transmissive display, you can get a superbright 800 nit display as an option which improves daylight readability.

The touchscreen is another of the favorite features, making it easier and more convenient for the user to navigate and take advantage of the different functions.

The E100’s resistive touch panel controller communicates with the processor via USB and is very quick. Keep in mind that if you intend to operate the device primarily with your fingers, you have the option to set it so that the driver stops reporting points when movement is within a pre-defined range.

This way you will have no more mistakes of something hitting your touchscreen and have the device accidentally performing functions.

Of course because this Tablet PC is presented as being dynamically rugged, its design and construction are its most appealing aspects.

On the left side of the E100 is a RJ45 Gigabit LAN connector and two USB 2.0 ports, all which have separate rubber plugs. On the right side is an indent that serves as a garage for the 4-inch-long black plastic stylus, and also present is a Kensington lock slot that lets you physically secure the computer with a Kensington wire cable.

Next we will take a look at the top, where there is an audio jack, and the bottom the power connector, protected with a door with an integrated rubber plug.

One of the most loved features of this Tablet PC comes on its exterior, in particular the four thick rubber bumpers which let you know that you do not have to baby this machine.

It is more than able to stand up to wear and tear regardless of the environment you are keeping it in, and it can definitely survive a fall.

There are plenty of additional features on top of this including a SmartCard reader, ExpressCard slot, and the ability to be equipped with integrated GPS and your choice of 3G wireless network connectivity.

If you need a Tablet PC that is going to be strong and durable and able to last, the GETAC E100 will make an ideal choice. Just take a look at the functional features and durable housing of this Tablet PC and it is easy to see what a great purchase it will be.

Gateway has released a number of worthwhile Tablet PC models, including the Gateway C-142XL for one, but anyone interested in a super adaptable notebook that is a high powered convertible Tablet PC is going to want to give the Gateway C-141 options thorough consideration.

The C-141 actually comes in two models: the “High Powered” C-141X and the “Ultimate” C-141XL. There are both similarities and differences between the two, some of which are substantial and some not so much.

One of the most major differences between the two models lies in the processing power. This difference is quite significant with the C-141XL is definitely the winning contender here.

When it comes to pricing both are very reasonable, the C-141XL at $1,249 and the C-141X at $899. Either way you go, few of us in the Tablet PC would have thought even just a few years ago that by today the price of a high powered Tablet PC would be so low…but hey, we’re not complaining.

Just a couple of the specs that we know of include a 13.3″ WXGA LED backlit screen, built-in camera, and especially when we compare these to those on the T4220, we can see just how much of an improvement has been made.

The predecessor featured a 12″ screen with an SXGA, and the price on this model was quite high as well.

Although the processor on the T5010 is unknown at this point, the price is $1999 and is available for pre-ordering at the Virginia Tech University bookstore if you are a student, starting in August.

We will definitely keep you posted on this new Tablet PC model and offer new information when it becomes available to us.
