Touch screens are about to get a whole lot more sensitive with Wacom’s announcement of a new innovation in capacitive touchscreen technology.
Next month, at the International Society for Information Display Exhibition, they will show off their new RRFC touch technology. RRFC stands for Reversing Ramped Field Capacitive, which relies on reversing ramped electro-static fields” to bring unprecedented precision and “drift-free performance”.
What is really interesting is that the technology can be integrated into dual-input applications, which makes me think that many tablets will have similar features to the iPhone, with regard to scaling images, zooming, and other such actions. I am looking forward to seeing how this helps the industry.
