The One Laptop Per Child program has been both a major success and failure depending on who you ask, but I am glad to see them continue to shoot for the stars in providing amazing technology to those that otherwise can’t afford it.
So you will understand why I am very happy to see them working on the next concept of their machine, which interestingly enough is comprised of a foldable section with two touch screens. The bottom half being used as the keyboard, or the first user screen, and the top half being the traditional screen or second user interface.
It seems like both halves would be touch sensitive, and convertible for all types of interaction. The XO 2.0 is due in 2010, and reminds me of a mix between a tablet computer, e-book and a Nintendo DS.
I hope the XO 2.0 does better than the current XO out in the market, as I feel like technology should be in the hands of everyone, not just those that were blessed to live in as richer area of the world.
