Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation and Socket Mobile, Inc. announced yesterday their plans for joint product offerings aimed at improving mobile data collection in a variety of industries.

The initial focus of this parternship revolves around the process of targeting and meeting the needs of the retail industry, but there are many other goals they hope to achieve here as well.
Said Paul Moore, Senior Director of mobile product marketing at Fujitsu Computer Systems:
Socket Mobile shares our commitment to empowering mobile workers by increasing the range of tasks they can accomplish and the efficiency with which they accomplish them. This partnership will help a variety of industries simplify data collection tasks, streamline operations and mobilize workers who have traditionally been behind the counter - benefits that will directly improve customer satisfaction and retail sales closures.
The Fujitsu LifeBook P1620 Tablet PC has been quite popular among highly mobile workers, namely because it is so lightweight at a mere 2.2 pounds and the built-in WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity that it offers.
Socket Mobile has said that they are looking forward to further innovations with Fujitsu, one of the main reasons being that they would like as many opportunites as possible to mobilize a countless number of workers.
