If you want a Tablet PC but are strapped for cash, here is an ideal option for you. It was recently announced that Microsoft and HCL were teaming up to roll out the cheapest Windows-based notebook to date.
This is great news for Tablet PC lovers, especially those who want to get a less expensive tablet but one that is still respectable in terms of features and quality.

The notebook will be part of HCL’s MiLeap brand of HCL Leaptops, will be running Windows XP Home and be very lightweight and portable at less than 1 kg.
It will also boast a 7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen, which is quite impressive for the overall size and price of this Tablet PC.
As reported on TechTree just a few days ago:
Powered by ultra-low voltage consuming Intel Processor and Intel 945 GU Express chipset, the laptop comes equipped with a 1.3 megapixel webcam, touchscreen panel, and 1GB DDR2 RAM. In addition, the laptop also includes a built-in touchpad with two click buttons for left and right operations, scroll, directional pads, dedicated softkeys for launching the media player and built-in speakers.
There are other plans that Microsoft has, including the creation of a joint Centre of Excellence with over 500 software professionals.
Their goal here is going to be to create, design and deploy Microsoft technologies based solution frameworks across various different industry verticals worldwide.
We will be sure to keep you up to date on all news regarding this issue, and one thing we all know is that with both Microsoft and HCL involved, great things are sure to come from this.
